Madonna
Ivory, carved in full relief. Finely executed depiction of the young, graceful, crowned Mother of God with devoutly lowered eyelids and long, curly hair falling down in a floor-length dress, holding the child in the crook of her right arm. The finely carved statuette is full of deep meaning, inspired by the Beautiful Madonnas of the late Gothic period. Minimally damaged; h. 13.5 cm.
