Chipboard box with gardener in softwood. Oval body. Polychrome painting. Lid panel with gardener and suggested landscape against a red background. Wreaths with stylized, shaded branches and flowers over a red background, framed by blue ribbons. Lower wall and base added later; signs of age-related wear. L. 46 cm, w. 28 cm, h. 13.5 cm. Provenance: largest North German private collection of chipboard boxes, exhibited at the Schloss Museum Wolfenbüttel in 1999. A German chipboard box with a print of a woman gardening.
