A German flintlock rifle, circa 1710/20
Rifled octagonal barrel in 9.6 mm caliber, somewhat rough bore with good rifling/field profile, brass rear sight and lightly cut brass front sight as well as sighting groove on top. Flintlock with brass lock plate and hinged, rainproof action, set trigger (set trigger broken off, included in the butt stock compartment). Full stock with smooth brass furniture, bone nose cap, bone plaque with aristocratic coat of arms on left side of butt stock. Wooden ramrod with bone tip. Length 112 cm. Elegant, well-carried hunting weapon.
