Blond morocco signed PAGNANT, richly decorated ribbed spines, fleur-de-lys between boxes, gilded arabesque decoration on covers with triple fillet, central coat of arms, filleted edges, interior lace, parchment double endpapers, gilt edges.
First edition of this monumental compendium of the important Condom house of GALARD and its various branches. A rare and complete publication. The last volume presents the genealogy and history of the County of Agenais in the 10th century.
Provenance: A copy bearing the arms of Laure-Henri-Gaston de Galard de Béarn-Brassac, Prince of Béarn and Viana. He was created Prince of Béarn and Viana by autograph letters from the Queen of Spain dated July 9, 1868. He died on June 25, 1893. He had married Cécile-Charlotte-Marie de Talleyrand-Périgord, Princess of Chalais (OHR 2434).
