Pair of round vermeil dessert plates bordered with rais de cœur engraved on the marli with the arms of Prince Camille and Pauline Borghèse. This 1,800-piece service is said to have been offered by his brother Napoleon Bonaparte in 1803 for their wedding.
Goldsmith: Martin-Guillaume BIENNAIS, BIENNAIS in all letters on one of the two plates, goldsmith's hallmark in a rhombus.
Goldsmiths' guarantee hallmark, repointed with a weevil when the service was sold in 1892.
