Honoré de Balzac, Le secret des Ruggieri [in] études philosophiques - tome XIII. Paris, Librairie de Werdet, 1836 [au bureau du Figaro, 1837, on cover]. In-12, 236-[1]p. First edition published in Etudes philosophiques, of which this is the fourth edition. The text had appeared as a pre-original in the Chronique de Paris in December 1836 and January 1837. Although dated 1836, probably the date of printing, on the title page, the volume was published in July 1837 (see Vachon, p.163 & 166). Maroon half-chagrin with corners, covers and spine preserved (spine restored), untrimmed. Minor rubbing to ends of spines. A fine copy.
