Kropatschek system marine infantry rifle with repeating action and single-shot capability, model 1874-85, blue-bronzed steel barrel, well hallmarked: "M", "C 1877" and "C. 86", numbered: "B. 66334", adjustable rear sight, caliber 11 mm; bronzed breechcase en suite, marked: "MANUFACTURE D'ARMES Châtellerault - MLE 1874 - 85", capacity nine shots; trigger guard and butt plate in white polished iron, grenadière and mouthpiece bronzed, the latter bearing the holder for the model 1874 bayonet; lateral ramrod on the left side, butt plate stamped with the anchor; two-piece stock separated by the breech box and bearing several stamps: an anchor, a: "B" crowned and : "M A" in a circle (this is the center of the worn button); length 124.5 cm.
