Ⓟ VIETNAM, XIXe siècle Pair of large lacquered and gilded wood sculptures Depicting standing Quan Âm, dressed in long robes, hair up in high buns, each holding attributes, the celestial nectar vase for one, and a tablet for the other. Painted in polychrome and enhanced with gold. Height: 75 cm (hands detached, worn, missing) Provenance: French private collection, the statues of divinities were acquired from antique dealers and private individuals in Ho-Chi-Minh and Hanoi by the current owners' father, who was stationed in South Asia between 1992 and 1996.
