For Charles Baudelaire, the photographic medium was not an art form for a long time, but merely a technical means of representing reality. As a counterpoint to Baudelaire, d'Agata here reworks his own photographs using digital intervention to return to etching, as if to move from pixels to the line of the time. In this book, Antoine d'Agata pushes photography to its limits, discarding the medium to return to the raw. Texts by Charles Baudelaire enter into a dialogue with photographs that have become engravings through wear and manipulation, where bodies blend together to make way for the poetry of the body.
