APO and counterculture - collection of 16 original photographs of demonstrations. Vintage. Silver gelatin. Of which 8 with copyright stamp on verso "stern ... Photo: Seeliger". 1968. sheet dimensions: approx. 19.5 x 29 cm to 26 x 30.5 cm (13) and 26 x 40 cm to 39 x 29.5 cm (3). The photographer Eberhard Seeliger (1914-1982) was responsible for the STERN layout from 1948 to 1953 and worked as a photo reporter for STERN from 1953 to 1981. - The photos of the large Vietnam demonstration on February 19, 1968 with 10,000 demonstrators, from Uhlandstraße to Kurfürstendamm and towards Halensee, show Rudi Dutschke (5), Gretchen Dutschke-Klotz, Gaston Salvatore, Peter Weiss, the publisher Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, Bahman Nirumand, etc., among others. Street battles with water cannons, overturned vehicles of the BZ (Springer). - One motif repeated as a smaller detail. - Margins partly slightly bumped, partly somewhat creased, altogether in good condition. - Enclosed: Seeliger, Eberhard. Willy Brandt in conversation with Peter Brandt. Vintage. Silver gelatine. Verso with copyright stamp "stern ... Photo: Seeliger". Circa 1968. sheet dimensions: 19 x 28.5 cm. - After Willy Brandt became Foreign Minister of the Grand Coalition at the end of 1966, Peter took part in the protests of the extra-parliamentary opposition, was arrested in 1968 and sentenced to two weeks' imprisonment, which was commuted to a fine on appeal. - Corners slightly bumped.
