Avant-garde - Japan - Onchi, Koshiro. Han geijutsu. No. 31, October 1934. 21 original woodcuts (incl. cover) by Onchi Koshiro. 27.5 x 20.5 cm. Illustrated original cardboard (spine with small losses, somewhat brownstained, slightly creased).
The magazine for contemporary Japanese art, Han geijutsu, existed from 1930-1936 - This special issue is devoted exclusively to the work of Onchi Koshiro (1891-1955). The woodcut artist and book cover designer as well as co-founder and central figure of the Sosaku-hanga movement was one of the first Japanese to engage in abstract art. - 1 plate brownstained, somewhat creased in the area of the prints, probably due to production.
