SENNEH-KURDE carpet (Iran), 2nd third of the 20th century
Dimensions: 202 x 130cm.
Technical characteristics: Wool velvet on cotton backing.
A hexagonal poly-lobed navy counter-field, set on an ivory field, both with multicolored floral swags, supports an oblong ruby medallion and its floral pendants. Four small tricolored spandrels set off the ensemble. Two old gold counter-borders with garlands of florets enclose the main ruby medallion with polychrome foliage scrolls.
