TABRIZ carpet woven in the famous workshop of master weaver HADJI-JALILI (Persia), circa 1870-80
Dimensions: 174 x 130cm.
Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing.
An arabesque tobacco field highlights a magnificent polylobed ivory, navy and brick floral medallion and its bluish pendants. Four brick spandrels with navy scrolls and floral foliage frame the whole. Two navy counter-borders with basins and cypresses enclose the main brick one, with a succession of polychrome floral compositions. (Minor wear).
