Historical Souvenir:
King Louis XV's Jabot au Point de Venise
Certificate on parchment: "I, the undersigned, certify that the jabot au point de Venise was given in our monastery of SAINT DENIS to our mother Thérèse de Saint Augustin, Prioress, Madame Louise de France, daughter of King Louis XV, by the princesses her sisters, after the King's death, 1774. Since then, this lace jabot has been religiously preserved in our Carmelite monastery of Saint Denis, transferred to Versailles on August 1, 1897" Sre Marie de St Joseph, Prioress. This precious historical memento has remained with the family to whom the Carmelites offered it around 1900 in recognition of the great benefits they had received.
