Gabriel VIARDOT (1830-1904)
Bedroom consisting of a bed and two bedside tables. Stained and carved mahogany veneered bed topped by a canopy with openwork decoration of apple blossom branches and Sino-Japanese motifs. Headboards inlaid with mother-of-pearl elements and semi-reliefs of cartouches adorned with birds for the headboard and a dragon for the end of the bed. Corner base with four small scrolled feet (small missing parts and accidents). Castors added later?
Stamped on the right-hand side of the headboard.
