Painter and engraver André Marfaing turned to abstraction in the post-war years, in contact with Pierre Soulage. The use of black is very present in his work. His minimal style explores opposites, contrasting light and shadow, full and empty. Awarded numerous prizes, his work is exhibited in France, as well as in galleries in London and Luxembourg.
