Pocket watch: exquisite gold/enamel ladies' watch for the Indian market, Henry Capt Geneve, ca. 1880
Ca. Ø30mm, approx. 28g, 18k gold, typical splendour case for the Indian market, finely chased, 14 chased arches, green engine turned enamel with gold paillonné inlays on both sides, enamel painting on the back, representation of a putto with lamb, case and movement with matching number 38626, dome signed Henry Capt Geneve, fine movement quality, wolf's toothing, cylinder escapement, bridge signed and numbered, excellently preserved signed enamel dial in extremely rare condition with green numerals, matching the green enamel rim of the case, gold hands, intact, in very beautiful original condition, only fine scratches in the enamel. Alongside Patek Philippe and Vacheron & Constantin, Henry Capt was one of the most important manufacturers in Geneva at this time. Only very few gold/enamel ladies' watches for the Indian market are known.
