Pierre d'AVESN (Pierre GIRRE dit, 1901-1990) Smoky brown pressed molded glass vase decorated with a frieze of fishes on a background of geometrical motifs etched in acid. Signed under the base. Height: 28 cm - Neck diameter: 17.5 cm ART DECO Pierre d'Avesn was a student of François Décorchemont at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs. He worked for Lalique and then Daum between 1930 and 1936 in the Lorrain Nancy production department. He joined the Verlys company in 1937. After 1945, he worked at the Cristallerie de Choisy le Roi until 1984. He died in Paris at the age of 90 and is considered the last glassmaker of the Art Deco period.
