Manuscript letter from the town council of Pößneck to the Dukes Johann Friedrich the Younger, Johann Wilhelm and Johann Friedrich the Younger of Saxony concerning a complaint by Erhart Ückeler, a citizen of Pößneck. Dated 'Sonntags Misericordias (dommy) Anno' (1556). 2 pages on 1 sheet. With paper seal - The council asks the dukes to dismiss a lawsuit by the citizen Erhart Ückeler. He was in debt, his house had stood empty for years and was falling into disrepair. The council had paid the creditors 70 guilders and only wanted to release the house to Mr. Ückeler when he repaid the 70 guilders. Ückeler sued against this and wanted to 'take his house from us' free of charge - Formerly folded. Addressed on verso - 2 small holes.
