Vase; France, c. 1900. Cameo glass. Signed "D'Argental." Measurements: 17 x 8 x 8 cm. Art Nouveau style ornamental vase, made in cameo glass with the acid etching technique. The cameo glass firm D'Argental has its origin in a group of workshops of the late sixteenth century, united under the name of Verrerie Royale de St. Louis under the reign of Louis XV, in the eighteenth century. By the late nineteenth century specialized in the production of cameo glass pieces typical of French Art Nouveau, made by the technique of acid etching.
