Set of four animals; XX century. Glazed ceramic. They have slight flaws. Measurements: 22.5 x 9.5 x 19 cm (larger); 18 x 4.5 x 6 cm (smaller). During the 19th and 20th centuries, animal-themed sculpture finally achieved its own status within the context of Romantic sculpture. Seeking to break away from the classical sculptural ideal, many artists saw in the animal theme a new way of expression, linked to the emotional and irrational nature, in a purely romantic sense. They have minor faults.
