Louis MAJORELLE (1859-1926).
Suite of six molded walnut chairs with openwork backs. They stand on ribbed front legs with poly-lobed ends and saber-shaped back legs.
Art Nouveau period.
Height : 99 - Width : 43.5 - Depth : 40.5 cm (accident to a backrest, a small piece missing from one end of a leg, seats lined)
The front legs of these chairs are perfectly identical to those of the Louis Majorelle armchair conserved at the Musée d'Orsay under inventory number OAO1278. This model, created in 1898, can still be seen in the dining room of banker Adrien Bénard's villa in Champrosay, entirely decorated with Alexandre Charpentier's woodwork.
