France: Sabre de Sapeur de la Garde Impériale, from the Manufacture de Klingenthal, circa 1810.
Mounted in cast gilt bronze, pommel with howling rooster, the crest with sandblasted finish, flared spindle, cruise with lion's head central knot and two straight quillons ending in a lion's head.
Strong white blade with small stains, saw-toothed back, with maker's mark on heel "Coulaux Frères" on one side, "à Klingenthal" (partly faded) on the other side.
Marks illegible.
Gap between hilt and grip.
Slight oxidation.
No scabbard.
