Pieter Cosijn (?) (1630 Rijswijk - The Hague after 1667), River landscape with two figures on a hill.
Oil on wood, parquetted. 46.5 x 65.4 cm. Framed.
Varnish slightly darkened. One continuous horizontal tear in the support. The edges of the image rubbed due to framing, some tiny losses of color in the lower margin.
We would like to thank Ellis Dullaart, RKD, The Hague, for his scientific assistance in cataloging this work. The painting will be included in the RKD database under the image number 311487 (as "possibly by Pieter Cosijn").
Provenance: Collection Mary Heilmann-Stuck (1896 - 1961) and Albert Heilmann (1886 - 1949), Munich; by inheritance to Otto Heilmann (1919-1971), Munich; subsequently private property, Southern Germany.
