Henri Joseph Harpignies (1819 Valenciennes - Saint-Privé 1916), Forest Interior.
Oil on wood. 24.2 x 35.6 cm. Signed lower left. Verso with label, numbered "243/52". Framed.
In 1878, Harpignies had settled in the small village of Saint-Privé in the Département of Yonne. Here he created numerous landscape studies in which the motif of the path flanked by trees on both sides and running in the background appears again and again. - The edges of the image only minimally rubbed due to framing, otherwise in fine condition.
