Ivan Ivanovitch BETSKOY (1704-1795)
The plans and statutes of the various establishments ordered by her Imperial Majesty Catherine II for the education of youth and the general utility of her Empire.
Written in Russian by M. Betsky and translated into French from the originals by Mr. Clerc.
Volume one, 160 pp. + 42 pp. volume two, 160 pp. Bound in an In-4 volume.

Frontispiece and some vignettes engraved by Grigory Fedorovitch SREBRENITZY (1741-1779) in 1768 for Betzkoy's "Statuts pour l'éducation de deux cents demoiselles bien-nées" (in Russian). Other vignettes are by Stepan (Étienne) PANINE (1739-1775): six from the work "General Plan of the Moscow House of Education" 1767 (in Russian) and seven new ones, and by Dmitri Fedorovitch GUERASSIMOV (1739-1784) for the work "Foundation of the House of Education" 1763 (in Russian). Other vignettes are also included, some unsigned.
