KPM Berlin Prunktasse Portrait Kaiserin Augusta
circa 1871, underglaze blue sceptre and red imperial orb mark from 1871, embossed letter D, brush numbers 24/630 and 4 and brush mark in gold, Calathos shape with fluted foot and rich relief decoration as a surrounding volute and pearl frieze as well as the genius handle with Hohenzollern coat of arms flanking the depiction of Europe with the bull and Heracles with lion in biscuit porcelain, the front with oval medallion with portrait in fine grisaille overglaze painting, bust portrait of Augusta of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach (1811 Weimar to 1890 Berlin, Queen of Prussia from 1861 and first German Empress after the foundation of the German Empire in 1871) and opulent gilding with etched iridescent and ornamental decoration and complete interior gilding, the mouth area to the left of the portrait restored, otherwise in good condition for its age, h 11.5 cm.
