Meissen large pedestal for mantel clock
Former base of a figural pendulum with Jupiter and Chronos, probably designed by Ernst August Leuteritz around 1850-1860, underglaze blue pommel mark 1860-1924, 1st choice. Choice, incised model number 88, curved rectangular rococo form with four volute feet, richly decorated with partly open-worked relief decoration of cartouches on the front, rocaille and leaf motifs as well as lavish floral decoration, all polychrome and gilt ornamentation. Floral decoration with insects in fine polychrome overglaze painting, rare base in expertly restored condition, trimming partially chipped, overall dimensions approx. 14 x 45 x 33 cm, base dimensions approx. 30 x 20 cm.
