FRAGMENTARY BRONZE LEONTOCEPHALIC AEGIS Egyptian art, Late Period or Ptolemaic, 664-30 B.C. Fragmentary aegis depicting the head of the lion goddess Sekhmet wearing a tripartite wig, surmounted by a large necklace ousekh finely engraved in several rows, decorated in the center with an eye and finished with two hierocephalic attachments. The top of the goddess's head is perforated to accommodate a sun disk, now missing. Three loops on the reverse. Green patina.
