Pair of Louis XIV period silver torches.
Set on a square, molded, canted base with a central circular bowl (used to hold wax) engraved with a period coat of arms under a comtal crown.
Two-knot shaft with octagonal upright and binnacles.
Marks for MONTPELLIER 1713. Master goldsmith's hallmarks: Etienne II FREBOUL, born in 1666, received his diploma in 1709. Elected guard in 1711-13, 1716-18 and 1725-27 (information taken from "Thuile").
