B. de Grise and Nicolas de Herberay of the well-known work by Spanish Franciscan Antonio de Guevara, bishop of Cadiz and Mondenodo (1480-1545). Adapted from a text by the Stoic emperor Marcus Aurelius, this politico-moral work is one of the most popular texts of the 16th century, combining "novelistic matter, political substance and openness to the realities of the time".
