Johann Gottfried Bohrisch Fancy Dresden lidded mug Silver, gilded. The conical beaker with a profiled lip rim rests on three spherical feet in the shape of sculpted skulls. The wall with three high oval engraved reserves in acanthus cartouches and numerous engraved inscriptions. Below the lip rim: "TODAY TO ME / TOMORROW TO YOU". In the cartouches: "HEINRICH STROPEL / ANDREAS KÖNIG", "JOHANN CHRISTOPH PETRITZ / OTTO HARTWIG FRIECK", "GOTTFRIED MÜNCH / IOHANN LOSE". And in between: "MÖHLE / GOTTLOB CVNISIVS", and the addition: "IOHANN GEORGE MILL HAD DIESEN BECHER ZUM GEDECHTNIS VERGÜLDEN LASEN d 10 Juny 1719". The domed lid with another skull as a pommel and the engraved names: "VALENTIN PAGE", "DANIEL HVTTMANN", "JOHANN CASPAR PESCHEL", "IOHAN HEINRICH GRVNEWALT" and "LVCAS BOHLE". Stamps: BZ Dresden with year letter R for 1718 (Rosenberg no. 1669, 1691 f.), MZ Johann Gottfried Bohrisch (from 1695, Holzhausen p. 71), tremolier engraving. H 15.5 cm, weight 309 g. Dresden, Johann Gottfried Bohrisch, 1718. To date, only two of the Dresden citizens named in the engravings have been identified in the archives: The name Johann Lose appears in a founder's inscription dated 1725 on the lid of the Dresden tanners' guild chest. Johann Christoph Petritz, cantor at Dresden's Annenkirche, died in 1721 at the age of 39 and was buried in the Annenkirchhof cemetery, which was later abandoned.
