Anthonie Ravesteyn, perimeter Portrait of a young woman with pearl and gold chains, wearing a black dress with a large lace collar Oil on wood. 70 x 54 cm. Provenance Belgian private collection. This portrait of a woman can be attributed to the circle of Anthonie van Ravesteyn for stylistic reasons. This is supported by the placement and the way in which the relatively large figure corresponds with the picture plane. The woman's clothing allows the portrait to be dated to around 1630. The costume and jewelry are remarkably well preserved. We would like to thank Claire van Donck and Prof. Rudi Ekkart for their help in the attribution and cataloging of this lot.
