First edition of this poem in praise of Théodore de Bèze (1519-1605): [...] Quand Beze s'en alla, le Soleil s'en alla...
The poem is followed by 2 stanzas on the reformer's death, one by Sieur de Chandieu, the other by Christophe de Gamon, a Protestant poet best known for his refutation of Du Bartas' Semaine.
Bound in the collector's cipher.
Minor restorations to a few leaves, including the last, which is also wet and soiled.
