Reptile species of the Dermochelyidae family regulated under the Washington Convention (Cites), Regle CE 338/97 du 09/121996, and the French Code de l'environnement. However, a CITES re-export permit is required if the turtle is to leave the EU.
This pelagic marine turtle species is in decline throughout its geographical range.
