Shepherds and shepherdesses, France, circa 1850-1860 Folded fan, the lithographed paper sheet painted with gouache of young shepherds resting in the shade of a tree. Skin reverse painted with foliage and roses. Mounted in white mother-of-pearl, cut, reperforated, burgued, engraved, silvered and gilded with a group of three young girls and a young boy. Metal clasp. H.t. 27 cm (cuts, wear, restorations, two strands reversed)
