Bound in long-grain half green morocco with corners, smooth spine decorated with gilt and cold-stamped fillets, flowers and foliage, gilt head, daffodil cover preserved, lined and edged slipcase. (binding signed Tchekeroul). Genuine first edition, see Van Der Perre pp. 10-11. This work first appeared in serial form in La Presse from July 1 to 14, 1837. A very fine copy, washed and rebound, in an excellent pastiche of Romantic binding.
