Bound in full empire green morocco, thick four-ribbed spine; mosaic composition in 13 different tones in a large medallion on the upper board representing Daudet's mill, gilt fillet on the edges, light green morocco linings set with a gilt fillet adorned with pink morocco listels and mosaic floral compositions in the spandrels, green moire endpapers, marbled paper double endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses; leather-lined empire green half morocco jacket, lined and edged slipcase. (Binding signed Charles Lanoë). First edition of 57 illustrations by A.-E. Marty. Limited edition of 200 numbered copies, a hors-commerce copy on Japon nacré, not mentioned in the justification, containing 2 additional suites on Japon fin of Marty's illustrations, one in black and the other in color, and enriched with an original watercolor signed by the artist.
