Bound in full pink morocco, ribbed spine richly decorated with fillets, palmettes and the monogram G.L. at the tail; double framing of gilt fillets on the boards with palmetto spandrels, central gilt motif, double gilt fillet on the edges, grecques framing the inside, gilt head, green moire lining and endpapers, marbled paper double endpapers, cover preserved, lined and edged case. (Binding signed Pouillet). Ex libris Georges Emmanuel Lang. First edition of 507 copies (7 on Chine and 500 on vellum), this one on vellum. Enriched with a letter from the author: Au cher et excellent poète Léon Dierx, son ami, Anatole France. A very fine copy from the library of Georges-Emmanuel Lang, with his monogram and bookplate.
