The younger brother of painters Cesare and Vincenzo Dandini, he was among the most active painters in the Baroque period in Florence, Prato and Pisa, where numerous works are still preserved today. Other works can be found at Palazzo Corsini, Villa La Petraia (frescoes in the New Chapel) and Villa Bellavista near Pistoia (frescoes), Palazzo Marchetti and Palazzo Gatteschi in Pistoia.
