This popular depiction of a young Krishna in a joyful dance movement communicates a child's pleasure to obtain a ball of butter, a well-loved treat which he is holding in his right hand. The god is balancing on one leg, the other leg is bent in the air, his left arm stretched out to the side. He is wearing a tasselled loincloth and jewellery. Facial features are flattened due to rub off and use, the blissful smile is still visible. Butter carries more symbolism than just a coveted sweet, as it is white and pure as our hearts should be.
