Two vol. enc. in paste, nerves, double tejuelo, painted cuts. Ex-libris of architect and academician Luis Cervera Vera. Sign of old restoration in fol. 4 of the first vol. and in the second vol. missing pp. 1 and 2, beginning of chapter III. This manuscript is of capital importance for the Spanish nautical bibliography of the first decades of the 18th century. Its two volumes were preserved until the mid-19th century in the archives of the Secretariat of State and Navy and were considered lost, so its recovery is essential for the history of Spanish science and technology of the Enlightenment. Framed in an era in which mathematics and physicomathematical sciences were not yet part of university programs and their study was developed mainly in the military and scientific academies of the time. The manuscript was intended for printing, but was never published.
