1780 ca. MANUSCRIPT: (POLITICS). FIRST SUCCINCT MEMORIAL WITH VARIOUS PROPOSITIONS WHICH HE GAVE TO THE MAG.D OF THE SOR. DN. PHe 5º Dn MELCHOR DE MACANAZ SOBRE VARIOS ASUNTOS. Manuscript on paper, in minor folio. All in the same hand, the volume contains two texts, the first occupies 19 h. (also contains a biography of the politician and jurist), follows a white and the second document PROPOSICIÓN QUE DE ORDEN DE S. M. HIZO AL CONSEJO Dn. MELCHOR DE MACANAZ, PARA QUE CONSULTASE LO QUE FUESE CONVENte, PARA EL CONCORDATO Qe. This one occupies 28 h. At the end it includes, by the same hand, a 'Cathalogo de las obras que tiene escritas dn. Melchor de Macanaz, y remitido al rey Ntro. Sñr Phe. 5º by hand of the prince of Campo Florido, his ambassador in Paris'. Melchor de Macanaz (1670-760) was an influential politician in his time, who participated in the events of the War of Succession and subsequent events, as he helped draft the Nueva Planta decrees that repealed the fueros of Valencia and Aragon (1707) in addition to recommending to the king the suppression of the Royal Council of Aragon. This handwritten document contains several proposals that the jurist had submitted to the crown. It is a clean copy for private use. Enc. in modern leather.
