Signed on the neck and on a label inside: "Pajot Jeune Jenzat Allier Médaille d'Or". Total length 72 cm. Table length 54 cm. The Pajot-Jeune Factory. A polychrome wood hurdygurdy. Peg box topped with a female carved head. Signed. The history of the Pajot family is closely linked to that of hurdy-gurdies. The Pajot family settled in Jenzat in the second half of the 18th century to build instruments, in particular hurdy-gurdies. Founded by Joseph Pajot (1848-1926), the factory attracted the interest of collectors from all over the world in the 19th century for the quality of the instruments it produced. We would like to thank Maître Etienne Laurent for his valuable information.
