Attributed to Pieter Fransz. de Grebber. A painting depicting the fast of Esther. In a carved giltwood frame.
The subject of our painting is taken from the Book of Esther 2:22. A composition very similar to ours was presented for sale by Müller in December 1938, no.16 (canvas, Height 114 Width 129 cm, monogrammed PDG; then Art Dealer Vermeulen, The Hague, 1949 - na 1949, Art Dealer K.W. Bachstitz, The Hague, inv./cat.nr Ru 302 G 35- 1949).
