A CAST BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER MING DYNASTY, 15TH-17TH CENTURY with a generous flaring rim with two relief mask handles each with a hairwork mane, all on three feet with ruyi-heads, the underside with a two-character mark, yun shang, 'beyond clouds'. 12.6cm diameter. Provenance: From an old English private collection. The shape of this piece is reminiscent of Chinese porcelain blue and white large vessels made in the Yongle period.
