KANDINSKY (Vassily). TAPUSCRITE LETTER signed (with 3 autograph lines). Berlin-Südende, 21.8.[19]33. 1 p. in-8 Italian style. LETTER written in French to André de RIDDER (1888-1961), novelist, art historian and editor of the magazine Cahier, which had just devoted its July 1933 issue to the abstract painter. Kandinsky was about to leave Berlin, where he lived. After inquiring about his correspondent's impressions of the trip, he writes: "Vienna is a beautiful city and Austrians are always in good spirits, even during great difficulties." He adds by hand: "Were there good reviews in the Belgian newspapers? Kandinsky".
