PISSARRO (Camille). AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED to "Mon cher Jean". Eragny par Gisors, Sept. 2. [18]97. One ½ page in-12. LETTER in which the painter first apologizes for not being able to attend his friend Jean's wedding, then mentions his own son, Lucien (1863-1944), convalescing after health problems. He then asks his correspondent if he could "recommend a firm that would be willing to print cottons [sic] for binding in the style of the sample enclosed, which is printed on paper? [sample missing]". This was a service he requested for one of his son's friends, the British artist, publisher and art collector Charles RICKETTS (1866-1931).
