Dimitri Omersa footstool
Lincolnshire, around 1970, made by Omersa & Co, distributed by Abercrombie & Fitch, USA. Dark brown leather. Signs of age
The idea for a stool in the shape of an animal was born in Liberty's in London. In this way, the leftover leather from the production of bags could be reused. The first pigs were produced from 1927. In 1955, Dimitri Omersa came to England and took up the idea again. This resulted in 37 different animal stools, which were initially sold by Liberty, later also by Svenskt Tenn in Scandinavia and for the American market by Abercrombie & Fitch in the USA.
