L'Eternel Printemps - 4th reduction, 1884
Bronze sculpture with brown patina, sand cast
Signed "Rodin" on the terrace. Marble base.
Barbedienne fondeur, inscription in hollow and captioned on the base plate.
"L'ETERNEL(LE)
PRINTEMPS AUGUSTE RODIN 1840-1917". The letters VL, struck twice on the inside, indicate a workshop active around 1905-1910.
25 x 30 x 18 cm (without base) and 30.2 x 35 x 21.5 cm (with original marble base)
Designed in 1884, this reduced size in 1898, this bronze proof by the Leblanc-Barbedienne foundry between 1905 and 1910.
Will be included in the critical catalog of Auguste Rodin's sculptural work, currently being
preparation at Galerie Brame & Lorenceau, under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay.
